Andy Goodwin has been a postman at Great Bircham and the surrounding villages for 12 years, he has made many good friends in his time of service.
Mr Goodwin had a heart attack five years ago while being based at the village post office, and has now had three attacks in total, so he has decided to take early retirement and spend more time with his wife Fran.
His college Steve Ireson organised for a collection to be made for him and the response was overwhelming. A large amount of money was collected allowing Mr Ireson to purchase a bird table, bath and nesting box, also Waterstones book vouchers.
Mr Goodwin thanked the Country Stores for allowing the collection to take place there and all his friends and customers for their generous donations.
