Well done to the guy, he worked for it without depending on a credit card or a loan, that's called living within your means, if everybody did that, we wouldn't have a credit crunch and debt crisis.

A very sensible guy and it's his to do what he likes with it and fair play to him, he had a lifetime experience that many of us could only dream of.

I still think £35,000 is a lot for a wedding which would be better put toward a house, it's their money and good luck to them.

Nowt wrong with credit cards if you have the money to pay for them. Halifax give me £50 yr to spend 300 a month on it. Did a free balance transfer to tesco card for £4000, over 2yrs, so in that 3yrs santander is giving me £240 until I have to pay full balance off (less the min monthly payments to keep the 0%). Just have to be savvy and make them pay you.

Gareth might have had to do all that overtime over two years to pay for his wedding because most of his wages are spent paying off past credit card debts and loans.

There was no mention of him taking out loans or credit cards so I assume he saved so he doesn't owe anyone anything.
