Fire crews called to post office in Bloxham's High Street this afternoon

Fire crews have been called out to a fire at Bloxham Post Office this afternoon.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue warned people on Twitter to avoid the area around the office on High Street while they deal with the fire.

An employee at Bloxham Fish Bar in High Street said: "I think it's just a small fire, someone said they said it was a pan fire from one of the flats above it.

"There's four fire engines here but it doesn't look like anything serious."

It is believed than an ambulance has been called to the scene.


South Central Ambulance Service spokesman David Gallagher said an ambulance crew treated an elderly woman for smoke inhalation but she was not taken to hospital.
