Reader Colin Bower from Sherwood has contacted the Post wondering why on earth a particular notice has been stuck on a postbox opposite the Theatre Royal.
The notice lets passers-by know about a change in the final collection time from the postbox.
But the 'new' time is exactly the same as it is at the moment.
The notice, from the Royal Mail, says: "From time to time posted mail volumes change and we need to review our collection routes in order to make best use of our resources. As part of this process, it has been necessary to change the times at which we collect from this letterbox.
"With effect from Monday, March 21st, 2016 the final weekday clearance time from this box will be 17.15 hrs."
As Colin points out: "This will probably not cause too much upheaval, as the current last weekday collection time is already 5.15pm."
The postbox is outside the main Post Office on the corner of Queen Street and Upper Parliament Street in the city centre. The existing wording on the postbox does make it clear that the current last collection time from Monday to Friday is 5.15pm (and it's 2.30pm on a Saturday).
So, Colin is asking, why the need for the new notice?
