Residents almost had soaking wet mail delivered through their letterboxes this morning after a postman became stuck in flood water.
The postman had to be rescued by fire crews when his Royal Mail van became trapped on Wednesday evening.
Fire crews from Usk and Malpas were called to Llantrisant in Usk shortly after 6pm.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Services said: “Usk and Malpas crew rescued a male (and the Mail) when a Royal Mail van was stuck in flood water.”
Royal Mail confirmed the mail was all intact and delivered without delay.

These little regional news outlets are a complete waste of time, no photo of actual vehicle, no comment from those involved. Journalism has taken a massive nose-dive.
