avistock FC manager Stuart Henderson may find himself singing along with the Beatles this weekend as he says ‘Stop, wait a minute Mister Postman’ to three of his players.

The South West Peninsula League Premier Division side will be hampered by Royal Mail for their trip to Division One West leaders Mousehole in the Walter C Parson Cup on Saturday as three of their first-team stars have postman duties instead.

Rather than turning out for Tavistock’s important cup fixture, early in the morning just as day is dawning, Sam Chitty, Josh Robins and Dan Follett will be posting letters through your door.

Unlike childhood character Postman Pat, boss Stuart Henderson will not be ‘a really happy man’ as he heads into the cup fixture three men down.

"Sam, Josh and Dan are Posties and they won't make it in time for kick-off," he said.

"They've got some good players at Mousehole and they're enjoying an excellent season, so we know it will be very tough."
