They’ve done it again!
Ballymoney’s postmen have raised an incredible amount of money for Cancer Research following a series of fundraising events which ran during August and September this year.
The big-hearted postmen and women presented the Ballymoney branch of the charity with £3,200 on Friday afternoon at the Royal Mail sorting office in the town.
This brings their total fundraising for Cancer Research over the last nine years to a massive - £40,000!
Adrian Nicholl told the Times: “We have to say a huge thank you to the people of Ballymoney.
“The businesses who allowed us to put collection buckets in their shops and businesses and to the people who donated.
“The Ballymoney people really are super and always support us.”
The fundraising began in August with a golf day which was followed up with a non-uniform day, a bucket collection, a big breakfast, a street collection and ended with the now famous van pull through the town centre.
“The whole office gets involved in the fundraising and then Royal Mail will always contribute to it as well.
“When we started nine years ago, we just decided to chose Cancer Research and when you put together a cancer charity and the postmen that everyone knows, well, it’s very hard for people to pass us when we are collecting.
“It does take a lot of hard graft so we will have to see what we come up with next year for our tenth year.”
