ANGRY staff at Tywyn’s postal sorting office have hit out at plans to close the centre and move their jobs to Machynlleth.
Last week, staff at the Royal Mail Sorting Office heard “out of the blue” that they might be relocated to Machynlleth early next spring.
The staff of 12 — half of whom have already had their hours reduced over the last year — would face an extra commute of 30 miles a day along “difficult, slow roads which are liable to flood”.
The Royal Mail has assured staff that no-one would lose their job but, if the closure goes ahead, they would have to travel to Machynlleth and back in their own vehicles.
