A post box in Haverhill is still covered in white paint after being targeted by vandals two months ago.
The post box, in the town's Western Avenue, was covered in white paint overnight between February 28 and March 1 this year. The vandals also threw paint at cars, causing £4,000 of damage.
Resident Clare Reeve, who lives on Cambridge Way, said she was told by Royal Mail that the post box would be cleaned up within a few weeks.
She said: "It has been two months now that somebody covered our local post box in paint and even after numerous tweets and emails, the post box still looks like this!

"We were told it would be put right within a few weeks and obviously it isn't the fault of Royal Mail that this has happened but it makes the area look bad. When you think of how much Royal Mail now charge for stamps and parcel prices, surely they could afford to paint a post box?
"I wouldn't mind but to say it would be done in a few weeks and still, months later it is like this, is frankly unacceptable.
"I know there is far more going on in the world but this is our little part of the world and we do our bit to keep it nice, why can't they?"
Ronit Wolfson, Royal Mail spokeswoman, said: "We are aware of the vandalism of this postbox and can confirm that cleaning has been arranged and will be carried out as soon as possible. We apologise to customers for the delay in carrying out this work."
Barry Robbins, town councillor for Haverhill North, where the post box is located, said: "Why would anyone throw paint over a post box?
"The trouble is nobody ever sees anything, there are no culprits. It's so difficult."
Cllr Robbins said he had been to the post office in Haverhill to discuss the issue.
No arrests have been made in connection with the vandalism.
