Firefighters called after girl gets arm stuck in a letterbox

But seldom has that point been so perfectly illustrated as when this girl got her arm stuck in a letterbox.


The party-goer had to be rescued by firefighters after she tried to let herself into her sister’s house by reaching through the three-inch high slot in the door.

Approaching the home in Jacksons Walk, Colchester, Ms Armstrong perhaps imagined sliding a slender arm through the gap and quietly opening the door with the deftness of a master thief.

In reality, the drunken reveller shoved a forearm into the letterbox and it got stuck.

Friends called the fire service to get her help – but not before Snapchatting her plight and uploading pictures online.


Firefighters finally freed Ms Armstrong at 2.30am on Saturday.
