Royal mail What's up with postal service?

Am I the only resident in Market Rasen who has noticed a steady decline in the delivery of mail over the past few years, whether it be first or second class.

Indeed has anyone noticed the difference between the two classes?

Generally, my mail arrives sometime in the afternoon regardless.

If I am very lucky, it will arrive late morning., However, today, (Halloween night), the service reached an all time low.

In between answering the door to those asking if I wanted a trick or treat, an unearthly glow appeared from the hi - viz orange jacket of the postman arriving with my mail at 6.30pm.

Whilst I attach no blame to the postie, I would appreciate a treat from the manager of the sorting office in Gallamore Lane half a mile away, by explaining why Market Rasen residents are treated as third class recipients!

I'm sure that it's just an oversight that it isn't available to Joe public and not that the waste of space managers don't want to deal with them.

Does this customer ever know that there is now only one single delivery from Royal Mail; how long has that been going on? Moreover, the class of the mail or what type of mail has absolutely nothing to do with when the mail is delivered.

Royal Mail must have sent a letter to the customer just before the Revision of the DO; unless this office has not had a revision.

Lastly, all he had to do is ask his postie why the mail is being delivered at 6.30pm - and he might have got an answer; such as we are short of staff and I am doing this on overtime so that you at least get your mail today rather than tomorrow. Although 6pm is late but customer should realise that we do not guarantee early morning delivery unless they want to pay for one - times have changed: it is a business not a service!

And therein lies the problem. It is a business that provides a service for it,s customers.That service has deteriorated over the last five years. Us posties no it. The recipients of male know it, and the business customers know it. It is a recipe for disaster, and this persons letter will not be the last one.

The issue is the complaint about the actual time he gets his post - he said they often arrive in the afternoon - so what? We deliver from about 9am (or earlier) till about 3.30pm (or longer)...

Special Delivery is either before 9am or before 1.00pm and they are priced differently. If the Special arrives at 12.58, so what?

First, second, d2ds, flats, mailsorts and whatever we have in the bag all arrive together - there is nothing left in the office. So what class of the mail and how much paid is irrelevant (most of the time) when it comes to actual delivery.

Some customers will be first to receive mail and someone has to be last... This person is probably towards the end of the delivery - tough!

All mail, irrespective of whether it is first class, second class, mailsort etc should be treated as first class by delivery offices. The first class \ second class should only affect how quickly it is processed by the mail centres.

why should have I knowing that all I wanted to know is why is first class mail treated as same as ms3 its not up to me how mail is processed that's up to so called managers.

also I don't know how you work in a del office. from what I read on here mail is sometimes left for 3 to 4 days after maybe lying in mc for a few days
