Post strikes have "crippled" London's businesses and cost it's economy
more than £300m, the London Chamber of Commerce said today.
Four out of five London company directors surveyed said the stoppages
have had a "negative impact".
Neatly half the directors calculated the strikes had cost their firms £1,000
or more. Three quarters complained of cashflow and payment problems,
and 64% said they were having to pay more for alternative services.
They spoke out as the Communication Workers Union met to decide
whether to call of the dispute.
But wildcat strikes are threatening to derail a peace deal. There have been
reports of walkouts in south-west and east London and major disruption
in Liverpool.
