MP keen to share in Post Office success

Mel Stride, the MP for Central Devon, has offered to buy the first share in the community purchase of Kennerleigh Post Office and Stores.

Mr Stride previously pledged his support for the Post Office campaign and so he was delighted to be asked back to the launch of the community share issue by resident Judi Binks recently.

The Central Devon MP was impressed by the work of the steering group and the fantastic response of the local community which demonstrated the level of involvement. Later on, at the Sandford Conservative Association summer party at Dowrich House, he spoke enthusiastically of the Kennerleigh campaign and several individuals from Sandford area indicated they wanted to invest, too.

Hard copies of the share prospectus can be obtained from the shop in Kennerleigh or from kennerleighshop@gmail.com. Shares are priced at £50 each and represent a unique stake in the hub of community life and applications are welcomed from everyone before the end of September.
