POSTAL workers are holding official and wildcat strikes, council workers and civil servants are balloting for industrial action: are we facing a return to the turmoil of the 1980s?

This unrest won't be 80's style. It's all-new 21st century-style. Consideration for workers and the notion of public service disappeared a few years ago, along with the real Labour party, and we didn't see it happen.

We need to put things right.

If the Goverment can put a couple of people in charge with some commonsense, and someone who realises that RM should firstly be run as a public service, which with the correct approach can still make a healthy profit for re-investement, and also a little to help swell the goverments coffers, then from a postal point of view, there is no need to go backwards.

I have to hand it to the CWU with its guerrilla tac tics the latest round really sent fear into the top brass of RM, just look at the high court injuction, and docking for days pay in one go, RM are running scared.

Thats not 80's style at all! a technique that I think many Trade Union sectors may well adopt in the future, so as not to fall into the same scenario as the Miners strikes of the 80's.

Un rest yes - 80's style no a modern forward thinking union that knows how far its members can realisticly go will ultimatley be this goverments downfall. There is only so much s**t you can chuck at people before a backlash is caused.

The BIG Fish will always go for the little fish, its the same all around the world uk is no different. I ,m proud that I have taken part in this strike why? because fundamentally it was/is about principles, certainly not for gain,And shows what ordinary people really believe in, and that for me is fairness to other folk and a belief in a society that works.
No wonder they wanted to get rid of Postman pat, That is an idea that I will always believe in and this Industrial unrest proves it.

Well at least they're saying 80's now instead of 70's.

Do not listen to their argument as this is the 21st century now and the struggle for better working conditions always has and always will exist.

What we need to do now is to win the hearts and minds of workers across the country and convince them that they have the power to change things for the better and not listen to the globalist lies.

But we also had St Pauls, Toxteth and Brixton. The 1981 Summer of Love! Not forgetting Broadwater Farm and Tottenham.

The difference between now and the 70's is that then the workers were on the offensive and now we are on the defensive.
