Stroke Association
In this year’s employee survey, the Stroke Association received the most votes and is set to become our new Charity of the Year partner.

We will begin working with the charity in September, with the partnership running for two years.

Our aim is to raise at least £2 million for the charity: £1 million from colleagues and £1 million in matched giving from the business.

Fundraising

We will soon be working with the Stroke Association to develop a range of fundraising activities and volunteering opportunities for you to get involved in from September onwards.

Stroke Association CEO, Jon Barrick, says: ‘On behalf of stroke survivors across the UK, I want to say a huge thank you for choosing the Stroke Association. You, your colleagues and Royal Mail are now leading on the fight against stroke.

‘The money we raise in the next two years will help fund our Life After Stroke Grants. Your fundraising efforts will improve the quality of life of more than 10,000 stroke survivors and enable people to recover at home and build confidence to get back into society.’

Everyone’s a winner

As part of our ‘everyone’s a winner approach’ we will donate £50,000 to both Age UK and Diabetes UK – the other two charities on the shortlist – at the start of the partnership.

Once we reach the £2 million target for Stroke Association, Royal Mail will match money raised for all three shortlisted charities, penny for penny, up to a further £1 million.

Royal Mail also offers matched giving for money raised for any registered UK charity or good cause, up to £200 per person a year.

What’s next?

Before our next charity partnership begins in September, we want to raise as much money as possible for our three current charity partners: Alzheimer’s Society, Prostate Cancer UK, and Whizz-Kidz.
