Bird's nest puts Orford post box out of action

A post box in Suffolk has been put out of action after a bird built a nest inside it.

Customers have been asked not to use the box in Gedgrave Road, Orford.

Royal Mail apologised for any inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience.

Audrey Boyle, of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, said: "I live nearby and have stood and watched without seeing any activity, but it's probably one of the tit family."

Ms Boyle said the nesting bird was probably attracted to the post box because it was almost part of the hedge.

"We'd certainly like to thank the Royal Mail for considering wildlife and putting the sign up," she said.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: "Royal Mail have temporarily requested customers do not post letters in the post box in Gedgrave Road, Orford to protect the currently nesting birds.

"In the meantime, letters can be posted at the nearby Post Office in Orford."

almost part of the hedge they didnt go to specavers then ?
