Complaints made to Leicestershire County Council over UKIP leaflets

Complaints have been made to Leicestershire County Council after UKIP leaflets were delivered to homes inside copies of the authority's magazine.

Leicestershire Matters is sent to 280,000 homes by County Hall.

Some copies of the latest edition have been delivered with a UKIP flyer about the forthcoming European elections folded inside along with other advertising material.

The council said it had received 10 complaints from householders.

A spokesman said: "We are extremely disappointed to learn a handful of copies of Leicestershire Matters have been delivered with other leaflets – including a UKIP flyer.

"We work with a distribution company which sub-contracts to Royal Mail.

"We are clear with our supplier that under no circumstances should unsuitable material be included – this includes offensive or party political materials.

"On this occasion it looks like a mistake has been made by Royal Mail."

Royal Mail spokeswoman Felicity MacFarlane, said the company was investigating how the error occurred.

But these would "delivered with other material" cos we get about 5/6 each week, perhaps they would like their stuff delivered on it's own
Anyhow I was always told (a very long time ago now) not to put d2d inside each other and when I have to prep other peoples d2d they moan like f*ck cos they are all placed one by one (resource to demand otherwise I would not do it) so I tell them just doing me job properly what about you? Then they go away moaning to their mates

Easier said than done if you have double slots, it is too easy for d2ds to slip inside each other

Could not agree more. 7 d2ds with many doubles slots especially at the bottom of the frame is very challenging... Not only do you struggle to get the d2ds in, also the letters will end up going inside the d2ds hence some misdeliveries.

Nesting should be avoided but I do not think that the d2ds prepping guideline makes it a complete no-no because they assume that the unit time for prepping comes down the more d2ds one has to prep. Why?

Nesting is a no-no.
The theory is that with 1 and 2 contracts you place the D2D into the frame.
With 3 (and more) you collate the 3 together and place them in the frame. So only 1 prepping motion.

They were never SUPPOSED to do that. And given that it would rip even more hours out of your indoor work, who would even want it?

And if you are told not to nest your D2D and you continue to do it, who else should shoulder the blame for it?
