A drugs courier who feared he was being watched was jailed for four years today after he was caught queuing up at a post office in a bid to get rid of heroin worth £100,000 on the streets.
Angus Bonellie was spotted by police who had “credible information” that he had drugs with him standing with other customers waiting to be served at the Centre in Livingston.
He placed a black bag on a counter at the post office but officers moved in to detain him and found it contained blocks of the Class A drug.
Defence solicitor advocate Krista Johnston told the High Court in Edinburgh that Bonellie from Fife had become aware that there was surveillance and he was being followed.
She said he was stopped in the queue with “a vague intention of posting away the package” he had collected in a bid to get rid of it.
