Royal Mail has apologised after the postbox at the junction of Lansdowne Avenue and Bath Road in Slough reopened on Tuesday (25) - four weeks after roadworks had finished.
The works began on January 13 and ended on January 27, and the Royal Mail has apologised for the delay, claiming that it was not notified of when the roadworks were completed.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: “Royal Mail apologises to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary sealing of the postbox at the junction of Lansdowne Avenue and Bath Road.
“Collections from the postbox have now resumed. The postbox was temporarily sealed due to health and safety concerns arising from nearby roadworks.
“Customers were notified of the closure and of the availability of alternative posting facilities. We were not notified of the completion of the roadworks and this led to a delay in reopening the postbox.”

Re: Royal Mail says sorry for delay in reopening postbox
How did the collection driver not notice?
Or did they, and they decided to say nothing to save time.....
On the other hand, why didn't a member of the public not complain after a day or two?
Usually, they can't wait to moan.
