Regarding strike pay stoppages.

Post by POSTMAN »

Response i got from the union was.

RM were going to take all pay in one week – but yesterday they were hinting they wouldn’t. we told them we were taking legal advice that says they shouldn’t.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Is it worth phoning payroll and asking someone if they've chopped 4 days pay off most peoples wage this week?

It makes you sick - the strike breakers work away while we're all out trying to get a good deal (for them too :no no ) . Yuck,

no wage slips our way yet, but one of the blokes just rang me and said he spoke to wages and they told him that all 4 days were being taken out of this weeks pay plus a portion of early morning allowance. They did say that any days off next week would be missing from next weeks pay because they are not inputting the wages untill late on Wednesday.
Is this legal, how are they allowed to deduct all 4 days when 2 were last week and 2 this week, are the cwu looking into it.

i phoned wages yesterday and they said all 4 days would come out of this weeks wages, however a workmate phoned them today and they told him that you would only lose the 2 days you were on strike of that week.

what they are doing if we have the four days taking out is illegal surely..

how does that work, you were paid last week for the week befores work...the week before last week we werent on strike,so last weeks wage slip was right.

We are not paid a week in arrears from what I remember
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
