Holiday park owners to stop their postal service

DISGRUNTLED users of a Trawsfynydd holiday park say they are angered that their postal service will come to an end at the beginning of April.

Trawsfynydd Holiday Village which provides 11-month occupancy for holidaymakers will stop its Royal Mail postal service from 1 April. Cabin users say they have picked up their mail from the main office for many years and say they will struggle if it’s stopped.

Sandra Smith, who has lease on a cabin at the park, said: “We have been provided with a Royal Mail postal service at our holiday home log cabin whereby the site management has kindly offered a collection point for our Welsh mail.

“This service has been in operation for many years and has been most helpful to all cabin owners of this site. “Unfortunately from 1 April the site management are to withdraw this service.

“As the Royal Mail are the only body that can rectify this situation for us, we have contacted them and have been advised that although this is a permanent structure with a post code and pays individual council tax, they will not offer us a direct delivery service.

“This decision will cause concern with holiday spots in Wales as some areas will be in the same position.”

Trawsfynydd Holiday Village say they announced the postal service was coming to an end in their December newsletter, giving cabin users three months notice.

I think there's a clue in the name "Trawsfynydd holiday park"
Next it'll be every site expecting us to deliver to every touring caravan and every tent.

They'll have to get a P.O. Box I think.

RM could score a wonder goal, from a PR point of view, by sorting something out with the people involved.
Even if it's just a row lockable boxes on the outskirts of the park.

Instead, they'll score an embarrassing own goal. And get pilloried in the press for it.

Though, the residents should accept that they have been on the receiving end of a long term favour, which has now ended.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.
