Royal Mail van driver forced out of vehicle by hijacker in north Belfast

A Royal Mail van driver has been forced out of his vehicle by a hijacker armed with a screwdriver in north Belfast.
The incident happened in Glandore Avenue, off the Antrim Road, shortly before 8am on Wednesday morning.
The hijacker made off in the van, which was was recovered a short distance away in Skegoneill Avenue.
He is described as being about 6ft tall with a shaved head. He was wearing a blue coloured jacket.
The driver of the van was not injured but left badly shaken by the ordeal.
Detectives in North Belfast have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident with information about the movements of the Royal Mail van to contact them at Antrim Road police station on 0845 600 8000. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
