Customers are experiencing long queues for parcels at the Firth Road sorting office in Lincoln.

Caroline Killeavy said that just before 1pm today there were still 43 people queuing after it took her 25 minutes to collect her post.

She said: “I spoke to a manager who was exasperated.

“I asked him if he’d seen the queue and he said: ‘I know.’.

“He said there were overwhelmed with parcels and that there was nothing they could do.

“We are in November now and in the run up to Christmas this is only going to get worse.

“They really do need to address it.”

Pearl Coatsworth, from North Hykeham, travelled in to Lincoln and took time off work to collect a parcel.

She was told it was at the sorting office but arrived at 12.25pm and waited until 1.10pm only to be told it was missing.

She said she will avoid the postal service and shop locally now.

Other customers told the Lincolnshire Echo they had been waiting for 15 minutes.

However Pearl Coatsworth, who had traveled from Hykeham to pick up a parcel, told the Echo she had waited over 45 minutes in line to be told it was missing.
