A community in North Lincolnshire has launched a concerted campaign to keep its popular postie who is being redeployed.
The Royal Mail has announced plans to reorganise deliveries.
But Wrawby villagers are up in arms that their long-serving Postie Sue - Sue East - will no longer be operating in their village.
Upset locals have established an online petition called Keep Postie Sue in Wrawby.
Villagers say that Sue (40) is more more than just a fantastic postie, she is also "a huge part of the community and will be sorely missed."
Bernie Redmond, of Chapel Lane, said: "We have been informed this week that Postie Sue, our Wrawby post lady, is being moved to a different round as part of a Post Office re-organisation.
"There are a large number of us in the village who wish to make representations to the Post Office as to this change but we need to mobilise quickly.
"Sue has been the post lady in our village for 12 years, she is an integral and vital part of our community and we do not want to lose her.
"She is the very essence of a sense of community in a small village and residents here, particularly those who are elderly or infirm, rely on and look forward to her daily visits and her cheerful and friendly manner."
At various times, Sue won the hearts of customers by doing her rounds dressed as Father Christmas, the Easter bunny and even a giant teddy bear.

Protest all they like RM will never back down on shifting posties about, they never have and never will. Customer service and what people want is waaaaay down on thier list of priorities!

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

They would have to ignore seniority to do something about it, never happen. These people are so out of touch, in a few years they'll be lucky if there's still 6 deliveries a week.

Not a chance unless seniority is undermined, if she's had the round 12yrs maybe she's just had a long run of luck and its just run out. It happens to us all.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/st ... story.html?
