A FIRST-CLASS holiday is just one of the glittering raffle prizes up for grabs at Tamworth's bid to set a new world record next week.

Visitors to T for Victory in the Castle Grounds on Sunday, September 8 will not only get the chance to help set a record for the largest English cream tea party held in one location but by buying a £1 raffle ticket could also win a luxury 'glamping experience' at Elephant Lodge in Kent.

Other prizes up for grabs in the raffle include a signed Wolverhampton Wanderers shirt, £50 of men's shaving equipment and an autographed Tamworth FC football.

In addition to the world-record attempt, a fun-filled 1940s themed afternoon has been organised by Destination Tamworth and Royal Mail in a bid to raise funds for prostate cancer research charities.

The event, which will take place between midday and 6pm, will feature music from award-winning trombone quartet The Spitfires, a 1940s disco and a fabulous display of contemporary clothes – including wedding dresses and British Army uniforms such as those made famous in popular BBC television series Dad's Army. An open-to-all afternoon including stalls selling local produce and products will also be on offer.
