RUMOURS in Maybole that the town's sorting office is under threat were partially confirmed this week.

On Tuesday, February 5, at a meeting of Maybole Community Council questions were asked about rumours in the town that the Royal Mail intended on closing the sorting office and relocating it to Girvan.

This week a Royal Mail spokeswoman confirmed the Maybole Delivery Office is under review, with a view to closing it and relocating the service to the Girvan office.
