PRESTWICK police are appealing for witnesses after a postman's bike was stolen.

Officers reported that on the afternoon of Friday, February 1, a Royal Mail pedal cycle being used by the local postman during his delivery rounds was stolen from outside a house in Waterloo Road, Prestwick. The incident occurred about 1.30pm during a 15 minute period when the bike was unattended.

Prestwick Councillor Hugh Hunter said: "I am certain that the people of Prestwick will do whatever they can to help the Police apprehend the person who committed this despicable theft."

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
