Woman charged after police probe into reported armed robbery at village post office

A 45-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with theft and fraud after a police investigation into a report of an armed robbery at Croxton Kerrial post office.

Offices began their investigation after the incident was reported in December 2011.

Enquiries established the incident was not as reported and, on January 19, 2012, a 45-year-old woman was arrested.

The woman has since been charged with theft from employer, fraud and perverting the course of justice.

She is due to appear before Loughborough Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 6.
