ROYAL MAIL PENSIONS
The 2006 Shaping our Future Agreement (SOF) set out Royal Mail’s agreement to the on-going funding of
the Royal Mail Pension Scheme and the existing deficit, at that time £3.4 billion.
That agreement included the following:
“Royal Mail have agreed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the trustees which, subject to the
proposed government funding being confirmed, will commit the company to funding the pension
scheme deficit over 17 yearsâ€
