A group of residents from Bradwell on Sea in Essex have set up a campaign urging people to SUPPORT the closure of their local post office.
Villagers are being asked by the parish council if they want to keep the service, but at an additional cost of 30-pounds each to be added to their council tax.
Local people say they don't want to pay that for the services currently being offered.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Yes.
Village Post Office Vote
http://www.bradwell-on-sea.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In a rare event, all households on the electoral roll in the village are to asked if they are willing for the Parish Precept (the share of Council Tax that goes to the Parish Council) to be increased to keep the Bradwell Post Office open.
The PO has been funded for 3 years by Essex County Council, but the agreement with them comes to an end in April 2013.
Voting forms must be returned by 31st October, by post or into the ballot box in the shop.
If the decision of the Parish Council is no, then the shop committee will look at ways to keep some similar services going, but nearly all of them will cost money to provide and it will be difficult to provide the same level of expertise as the Post Office trained staff do.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
