A 33 year-old man has appeared in court accused of stealing and interfering with postal mail.

Darren James O’Neill of Orr Road, Magherafelt is said to have stole postal parcels in the course of transmission between December 15th last year and January 23rd 2012. He is further accused, between the same dates, of being a postal operator who interfered with mail.

Taking the stand at Dungannon Magistrates Court on Friday a police constable said he believed he could connect O’Neill to the charges.

The 33 year-old will reappear at the court in six weeks time.
