A ROYAL Mail blunder has been blamed for poor attendance at a public meeting in Colwyn Bay.
Organisers claim that residents missed out on the chance to air their views about controversial plans to change North Wales NHS services following a problem delivering leaflets.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar, who scheduled the meeting, said: “The letter from the health board states that Royal Mail have confirmed that two postcodes in the Colwyn Bay area did not receive the leaflets.
“The turnout at the meetings was very poor, which is not surprising if people didn’t know about them.”
As part of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s consultation on their proposals three public meetings were held at Eirias Park in September, but all were poorly attended.
Mr Millar has called for another public meeting with health chiefs to be held in Colwyn Bay.
He added: “Health chiefs must take action to ensure that further meetings are now organised to ensure that people in the town have the chance to find out more about the Health Board's proposals for services in their area – particularly given local concerns over the future of the Minor Injuries Unit at Colwyn Bay Community Hospital.”
Royal Mail was unavailable for comment.

This sort of thing always happens when a bunch of idiots are allowed to turn a silk purse into a Sow's ear.

Darren Millar AM is always in the papers though. I read the Weekly News last week and there were 3 stories on the same page with his name mentioned.

Erm, he's not in the paper for the same reason... lol Besides, we don't get much "news" around here so it's not surprising that anything anyone says makes it in there.
