Most CMA represented managers are being intimidated by exactly the same bullying tactics as their CWU counterparts but are caught between a rock and a hard place without the means in terms of a strong trade union to fight back.

One example is the Christmas 'volunteering' scheme for non-operational managers. It is not mandatory for Admin managers to 'volunteer' to work on Ops at Christmas for 5 days, but if you decline then you should 'discuss your decision with your line manager' .... what is there to discuss exactly ??????

There is a great deal of sympathy, amongst the RM Managers that I work with, with the postal staff as so many of the issues are shared ones. There is a belief that the industry has been sold down the river by a Govt that really could not care less and that a liberalisation program was launched with full knowledge of the destructive consequences that would follow. The postal regulator has been excessively punitive towards Royal Mail, forcing it to jump obstacles that it's competitors to not have to negotiate.

Add Crozier and Leighton to the above and you have a lethal combination, the results of which we are all suffering at this time.

Dont you think that myself and other managers have feelings too? I go to work, have to face all you negative bast**ds on a daily basis and bite my tongue so fu**in hard in case i hurt anybodys feelings and they take a grevience out against me. I understand and accept that there are a few bad apples in the Line manager's rank, just as there are in the OPG rank, but i always try to be polite, explain why i am asking someone to do something and take on board any suggestions that anybody brings up if it is beneficial to the operation, but to have to be nice to someone who hates my guts just because i am a different grade to them, you have no idea how hard that is.
As someone said earlier in the thread, we are all in the same boat, i dont want to work till im 65, but i also dont want to spend my time farting against thunder... change is coming whether we like it or not. The majority of people that i have spoken to at my office say they would accept most of the proposals as long as their pensions are not fu**ed about with. The changes at my Mail Centre happen in October.... 1 hour later starts in this case... when i was giving the breifing about it, one of the guys screamed and i mean screamed " What if i don't change my times, what you gonna do about it? " My reply, "Asda or McDonalds are hiring". This is the reality of the situation, you dont like your new hours, F**k off to a better job with hours that suit you. whether you be ML grade or OPG.

Another example of why they're so hated. Unable to string together a few sentences without resorting to a bit of Anglo-Saxon. Thick as whale omlettes, the lot of them. These are the spongers and parasites who produce nothing, and who we all have to work to keep.

cfps is a dum i take it from his ignorance like all dum's lazy as hell you can tell by his style of wrting. Dum's in our office think anualised hours for delivery staff is right, as some staff take longer over deliverys than others so they recon they will make good office savings a s s h o l e s I will not be rushing round anymore so i will get my money

Absolutely ... If the CMA start backing the CWU in this dispute (which I believe they should !!!) then an ALL OUT strike would accelerate a settlement.

I make no apologies for being on a managerial grade although I do not have any staff reporting to me. There are good and bad throughout the grades and looking at all frontline managers as being mindless automotons following blindly wherever Crozier/Leighton lead them is totally inaccurate and only really believed by simpletons.

We ALL work for the same business, we ALL want it to succeed, we ALL want everyone to prosper and have a future.
