The Royal Mail says it hit the national target for delivering first class post on time across most of Wales between April and June.

Six out of eight postcode areas achieved the national target of 93% or above, it said.

People living in Llandrindod Wells, Brecon, Builth Wells and Knighton saw the best service in Wales with 96.7% of first class mail arriving the next day.

This was the second highest result in the UK.

Tony Fox, Royal Mail operations director, said: "We are extremely pleased that we are delivering a high quality service for our customers in Wales and the rest of the UK.

"It's down to our local postmen and women, out on their routes six days a week, who are determined to deliver the best possible service to our customers."

Across the UK, 92.9% of first class stamped, franked and single piece pre-paid mail was delivered on time, just 0.1% below the national target of 93%.

Royal Mail said it exceeded its national second cass mail and standard retail parcels targets between April to June, with the overwhelming majority of all mail delivered on or ahead of target.

The company delivered 98.6% of second class mail three working days after posting, beating the 98.5% target, according to independent research.

i read that people living in llandrindod wells,Builth wells,Brecon and knighton had the highest result for first class delivery,do the people living in these areas realise that the royal mail currently has the mail centre (SHREWSBURY) which serves these areas under a review of closure, they wont get that kind of service, when it goes to CARDIFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It also states that bbc wales says that it is down to the local postman, this is not always the case,As all the hard work is done by the mail centres which serve them.
I bet it didnt reach its targets in CARDIFF,weve heard that it fails most nights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really ALL. :left: :left: :left:

I hope you misspoke, if not I am sure someone on deliveries could extend an invitation so you could walk 9 miles in our shoes.

In fact why don't RM do that, it would good for both MC and DO Posties to do exchanges between them, it would help both sides to see the problems their colleagues face, and hopefully it would help both sides stop causing problems for each other, usually caused by ignorance of the others roles.

I have done deliveries, But that was in the days when people on deliveries didnt start an hour before their time, effectively giving Royal Mail almost 6 hours for nothing.
