Royal Mail staff in the Peterborough will use new delivery routes, it has been announced today (Monday).

The news comes on the day the Wansford delivery office closed down and relocated to Orton Southgate.

It has not been confirmed whether there will be any staff changes from the latest changes, or when people can expect their post to be delivered.

However, Royal Mail have said they will continue to deliver some post in the morning, and delivery workers will work for longer periods during the day.

The company says the time customers receive mail will depend on where they live on the new delivery route.

Royal Mail are making variations to the routes in PE2, PE7, PE8 and PE9, and the company have written to affected homes, local politicians and business groups about the changes.

Royal Mail’s Delivery Sector Manager, Duncan Stephenson said: “We are proud of the high regard in which our postmen and women are held in Orton Southgate.

“The local delivery team and I are fully committed to providing a high quality of service that is as reliable and friendly as customers have come to expect from Royal Mail over many years.

“Royal Mail provides one of the most comprehensive and best value mail services in the world.

“Our postmen and women play a vital role in Orton Southgate, as well as across the rest of the UK.

“However, we need to modernise the way we operate. We are therefore making changes in Orton Southgate to maintain our services and to keep our prices as low as possible.”

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
