Hang on a minute - Have I missed something here - I didn't see any mention of MONEY! That's why I come to work, not to be buggered about on alterate hours or cover somebody else's work for FA - am I selfish here. Pete and Dwayne and Pat and RM can kiss my boko.

I'll bet they won't pay the daft sods the money for their unofficial early starts though!

Personally, I would be glad to see the back of Job n Finish as it has had a terrible effect on our daily working lives.

However, I don't want to see "job and more job" in its place. The main reason being is that it will be a "favorites charter" where favouritism (already far too common in RM) will be used to select duties etc. Combine that with the abysmally poor standard of management that RM specialise in, and it will be a pretty awful regime to work under. Can you imagine existing managers trying to run a flexible banked hours system? Jesus, they can't even cover duties now with the simple system we've got. Also, the naturally more 'flexible' people will get all the s**t jobs and grief as the managers will not want to take on the lazy/reluctant/inflexible/gobby people.

I am not sure what a happy medium between ending job n finish and flexibility is. Anyone any ideas?

Job and finish was their idea, if it suits us, what are they going to give us to hand it over? I actually work all my hours so it doesn't affect me - what we should do is the job properly.

No early starting, No cars, timed bag drops where a secure bag drop is not available, no overtime, use public transport to return to the office in sufficient time for ablutions prior to leaving, take meal reliefs as scheduled. How many offices could function normally?

I agree mate, but its Job n knock that has created the climate for the idiots who start early, use their cars etc. I do my job properly and lobby hard for others to do the same, but it falls on deaf ears because of the selfish twats loving of job n knock. I only wish I could think up a system which is fair and would stop the boy racers who murder the job.

Show them RM proposals and point out if they get rounds faster they'll owe hours and with the new trackers coming in RM will know when they slope of early.

Thats a good idea - and I will do it - but I fear the culture of job n finish is so engrained I think it will fall on deaf ears. The boy racers will only realise when it is too late. In some ways I would love RM to lean on these guys and say "you now owe us 2 hours etc" (as that is the ONLY thing that will make some of these dumb fcukers realise), trouble is we would have lost the fight if that ever happens.....

-On processing/collections /distribution -"Our new way of working " has been a absolute farce , no equipment is set up for the next wave /stage and quell surprise loads of failures . That's not to say the previous "fire-fighting management ' , mass panic , all the territorial glorified floor supervisors with thier little empires making more work for the next section in the pipeline on the workplan was well geared in the first place . Sounds if RM's "cunning plan" is to make them work faster or they'll be held back , no more going home at ten o'clock . That proposal as per usual , begs more questions than it answers and is full of contradictions . I think the DO boys have upset RM with WTR , so that's to teach you all a lesson to soften you all up and knock the stuffing out of you all for another Privatization attempt.
