More than a dozen Royal Mail workers from Cambridge are planning a special delivery to Paris on Sunday – themselves.
Fourteen cyclists connected to the Royal Mail centre in Clifton Road are pedalling more than 270 miles to the Eiffel Tower to raise cash for two Cambridge charities.
They are being accompanied by two support vehicles, one being driven by Chris Clingham, who said: “We do an event like this every year, and the aim is to raise money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and the Arthur Rank Hospice.
“All the cyclists are men, except for one very brave woman, and they include post delivery workers as well as managers.”
The riders hope to reach the French capital by noon on Sunday.
