HELP

calling all posties Watford deliveries need your help, over the last 8-10 weeks we have been "doing the job properly" and its has almost brought the office to its knees. however it would seem we are the only office in the country doing it. today they shipped in 80 or more managers to try and deliver the backlog some of which dates back to mid July!! we are really under the microscope, and we need support from you boys and girls, Please Please help.

All you can do it to continue to do your job properly same for others, They (Managements) will soon tire of that just gotta keep strong and you will get through it and keep taking your breaks etc don't give RM an inch of anything

big suprise that others are not following your lead i do my level best to try to get them on the vans but most are clowns and have no idea what is going on elswhere to protect the job. but hang on in there it's going to hapen everywhere so i hear very very soon

but blame has to be put on the union at local level as they should be putting questions to the executive we all should be doing it by 318

thanks axeman union at local level doing good we were told 8 or weeks ago that everybody else would follow our lead by Div rep and bobby gibson. a couple of weeks ago we couldn't get hold of anyone at cwu hq to busy with bullshit talks!!! the time to act is now or we will be f****d. :cfo :lfo

We are starting doing the job properly Wednesday, some of our managers have been to Watford hopefully they wont have time now. You guys in Watford have been great keep the faith.

If feel ashamed to be working in a office which borders the WD postcode area and has not even given the "doing the job properly" a real go. We even had a talk from one of Watfords' union reps about how this idea was working. People at my D.O. are still coming in early, using their cars and not taking their meal reliefs.

The local media are vilifying the staff both at Watford D.O. and Watford Mail Centre. If the comments posted on the local newspapers website are anything to go by even the public are turning against them. I also question what the area management's tactics are here. All their actions seem to have been done to undermine the staff at the D.O. & the mail centre and to discredit the whole Watford site.

I feel we have really let you down

Although in Lancashire and many miles removed from Watford, I too feel, not ashamed, but certainly embarrassed, that our DO hasn't even attempted to "Do the job properly". I feel we have let others bear the brunt of showing RM what good will is and what happens when it is removed.
The best I can say is "I wish I was in Watford".

do not believe you are on your own Watford, down in Southend people have been doing their job propably for 12 weeks or more and i am sure you are being treated just the same as the posties at Southend but at least we will be able to hold our heads up high and say we did the job propably shame the rest of the people have their heads in the sand and rely on other offices fighting the good fight

just to let you know we tried to have a meeting outside the gates today during our meal relief, only for the watford mailcenter manager and another to come out and try and listen . so we moved away from gates down the road and far away and still they followed. it had to been seen 100 + blue shirts being followed by the not so dynamic duo. dignity and respect, or bullying and harrasment?

You could have asked them to leave - we did that to our DOM in a polite manner and he did as asked. Still at least they heard it first hand instead of getting by Chinese whispers from any snouts they may have.

I am a Watford C&N driver,but have been through the whole system in my 29 years service,just gone back on the 600cf early morning DO runs after 17 years on the same walk.I have stated on more than one occasion about my collegues at Watford,well today they were given a talking to at 6am,usual sh1te,must be prepped by 08.20-m/r then out on the vans,needless to say some walks just can not get prepped by the stated times,also usual threat about must'nt cut off unless you have a good excuse,threatened with stoppage of pay as well.

Management at Watford also have a severe panick on as they are due for another visit from the local mayor and local mp Clare Ward,so they have got managers in from all over the show to try and clear the backlog(yes there is still a big backlog,just come back from 2 weeks leave and expected to see the office cleared,but i was gobsmacked at the amount of backlog)it was amusing to see them studying their maps of the area,i really can not believe the amount of extra staff and hired vans that have been used.

RM way above the management at Watford are behind what is being done at our mail center,they are desperate to get us out on unofficial IA.RM are giving the impression to the general public that they are trying to clear up the backlog and its the postman at fault,due to the strikes,they were 6 weeks ago for gawds sake,the reason is the RM has not got the facilities to cope when the job is done properly.

Not wishing to be bigheaded,but Watford is a millitant office and if RM break Watford Delivery Office and Mail Center,god help the rest,RM will steamroller their changes through.
