latest union response

Post by dogfood »

A message from Billy Hayes, General Secretary & Dave Ward, Deputy
General Secretary (Postal)

Dear Colleague,
As previously reported, the Union rejected
Royal Mail's latest proposal. The details of those proposals and why
they were rejected were explained to representatives from each branch
last Thursday.

Since that National Briefing, a further meeting has taken place with
Royal Mail. At that meeting Royal Mail has invited the Union to table a
fresh counter proposal with a view to reach an agreement and resolve the
dispute.

The Union intends to take up that offer. As a result the Postal
Executive is currently finalising that proposal.

At the same time the Postal Executive is discussing the details of the
next phase of industrial action in response to managerial executive
action on operational changes, pensions and ESOS. This will be
communicated before the end of this week.

The details of the Union's counter proposal and the need for members to
continue to support strike action will form the basis of a letter to
members' home addresses and a detailed briefing to representatives.

So still no action until at least next Friday WTF are the Union up to? It is like a distraction burglary Keep the union talking whilst RM sneak in the backdoor all the changes.

HELLO CWU WAKE UP FFS.

So if Royal Mail are giving the CWU the opportunity to respond with their counter proposals then what exactly have they been doing for the last five weeks?

Royal Mail have cleared their feet. Members of this Union are starting to question the tactics of the leadership. A wedge is starting to grow between those at the top and the foot soldiers. Over the last five weeks during the period of calm we have had attack after attack by RM management. The Unions response was total silence. If weare to be kept being led up this dead end then there will come a point when there is a massive split in this Union.

Get your act together Hayes and Ward before its too late !!!

Lets hope the union counter proposals are drawn up in the same spirit as RM,s offer. SAY..

£600 basic per wk.

Max 30HR week

Pension to increase by RPI + 5% per annum,

ETC..

Just as realistic as RM,s proposals, we could talk and meet in the middle, couldn't be more reasonable imho

Talks - all good and well !

Maybe it is a stalling ploy to cause maximum disruption and force Huey and Duey into a corner. THE RUN UP TO CHRISTMAS. Now that would be their worst nightmare come true. Imagine what a complete bunch of twats they would look like.

Still feel we should be announcing strike action and sticking to it.

RM are just throwing as mcuh crap at the CWU as possible and praying they call an ALL OUT strike. As RM know that there is no way everyone will down tools for x amount of days. Not many people would be able to afford it with mortgages etc.

The CWU have cocked up big time here IMHO and I really can not see how they are going to rescue us from the looming disaster that awaits everyone.

RM have had all this planned for ages now and the CWU fell right into the trap.

I really hope I am the first to be proved wrong here.
