I WOULD like to respond to the Echo article, ‘New post service is criticised after vital letter arrives late’, on Tuesday, September 11.
TNT Post was appointed as an approved supplier of postal services to the Cardiff and Vale and Gwent Healthcare NHS Trusts following a thorough tendering process conducted by Value Wales in conjunction with the Trust and OGC via their postal services framework.
From the first week of August this year, TNT Post began working with the Cardiff and Vale and Gwent Healthcare NHS Trusts collecting mail and delivering it to Royal Mail distribution depots for delivery by postal workers to customers.
TNT Post is aware of some delays in the delivery of postal items to customers and is reviewing procedures and working very closely with Royal Mail and the NHS Trusts to understand why some delays are occurring in the delivery process.
We understand the inconvenience and distress that late delivery of postal items has for customers and we hope to rectify this situation with Royal Mail and the NHS Trusts as soon as we possibly can.

Managing Director, TNT Post South West Ltd, Bristol
We can only deliver it once we have recieved it - if we recieve it late because of the financial and logistical constraints that TNT face in order to provide a "CHEAP" service then it is time you came back to Royal Mail as your preferred service provider - always assuming that your greedy little contract managers earlier decision hasn't already cost us the jobs and vehicles that would have handled it promptly and efficiently for you in the first place.
The grass isn't always greener - even in the valleys !!!
