Royal Mail is making changes to the way it delivers mail in the N3 postcode.
As fewer letters are posted every day, Royal Mail is revising delivery routes to maintain services in Finchley whilst keeping prices as low as possible.
From today postmen and women will use revised delivery routes.
Royal Mail will continue to deliver in the morning and for a longer period during the day. But the time customers receive mail will depend on where they live on the new delivery route.
Callum Rossie, Royal Mail’s delivery sector manager, said: “We are proud of the high regard in which our postmen and women are held in Finchley. The changes to delivery routes will mean that a member of our local and experienced team will still be delivering to our customers in Finchley.
“The local delivery team and I are fully committed to providing a high quality of service that is as reliable and friendly as customers have come to expect from Royal Mail over many years.”
To contact customer services call 0845 601 1399, or deaf and hard of hearing customers can use the Textphone on 0845 600 0606.

it is standard for these letters to go out before revisons.
for the record the revisons in North London have worked well thusfar.
The office in question all staff will be on either a 4 day week or a Monday to Friday duty.
The office have voted in the agreement at a union meeting in the same way all the other offices in North London which have introduced a revison. The reason they work is two fold after step. 2 it was a negotiation and no office is agreed 100 BSI and Amy problems are quickly resolved using the PIR.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Changes to Royal Mail services in Finchley
Postman the average delivery span is 3:45 , all the four day week and Monday to Friday duties finish at the same time on delivery ! The Monday to Friday duties start later 0700 and the four day week duties prep some of their duty as they start at 5:15 .
I don't work in North London but often go to delivery offices in North London including Finchley Church End , I was part of the original negotiations on their 4 day week , then I was involved in the negotiations to put the four day week back into the office after the executive action during the 2009 dispute.
The members in N3 support the revision agreement and voted for it ! So why do people get so negative if an office gets the attendance patterns and the deal they want ?

Re: Changes to Royal Mail services in Finchley
see what I don't understand is why we accept what geo route states as it is all then down to manuel adjustments from anything from time locks , attendance calls when letterbxes are on the ground floor to welfare breaks and then it's should be what's acceptable in terms of Negotations and if you don't think it is a good enough deal you don't agree and you go to disagreement.
That's what we are doing , it is time this union everyone got off their knees and said no like we always use to when we don't want something or find it unacceptable. it is simply wrong that people don't like things which have been introduced but have done little to stop them being introduced.
This is not an attack on you , but a reflection on the whole of the CWU at the moment , don't moan at what some other office is getting fight to get either the same deal or a better deal. it is easy to post on here , or Facebook or twitter but what does that say about what you and your office have done to get a better agreement.

Re: Changes to Royal Mail services in Finchley
A lot of members don't understand why the union had anything to do with geo-route to start with dingo and it has to be said a lot of managers are coming around to that way of thinking too.
Isn't it time we all just held our hands up and admitted it's flaws far outweigh any benefits and it was never really suited to mail delivery work in the first place?
I know the original architect may look foolish but at least it might give the rest of the modernisation process a fighting chance of being completed by 2015.
When something is not working.....the brave thing is to admit it's crap and move on not continue in the hope that it might get...less crap.

Fish I have long since said geo route and some of the other tools at flawed and need to be replaced. however whilst they are still in place you have to negotiate and manuel adjust where you disagree.

Re: Changes to Royal Mail services in Finchley
I understand that but it's getting to the point where manually adjusting geo-route is involving more work and throwing up more problems than just manually designing the deliveries to start with.
And of course if an office gets rolled over by management using geo-route it gets well and truly steamrollered flat which is really a risk the union should not be willing to take...weak office or not.
