Royal Mail's lazy, slow-moving postmen

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Royal Mail's lazy, slow-moving postmen have enjoyed a monopoly long enough. Time to bring on TNT!

I am not going to post the whole story here. But I suggest everyone follow this link http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/crist ... ng-on-tnt/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and post comment on there instead. Lets give her a taste of her own medicine.

Wow what a great journalist...not! This is no more than the ramblings of a bored housewife that's blotto on too many G & T's!

Would like to know how much she was paid for that drivel, whatever it was it was too much! :so there

Someone should challenge her to come out with them only for 2 days ,from start to finnish and see how lazy we are.

What Will TNT do that is so much better. Deliverys at lunch time and PM are down to our stupid start times set by the management.
If she came out with us ,she would relise how much easier it is to deliver a packet than 739 it.

Lazy Journalist who never reserched her work ,just went on casual observation.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Cheap journalism who spouts off to attract attention, a bit like a baby who wants attention that requires feeding or is tired but more than those a baby who has sh*t her nappy because I could smell bullsh*t after reading the first line in her report :cuppa

I would ignore her and not respond in any way, there will be too many flies about so don't bother. :so there
NO bags on shoulders please except for Moya who keeps her big fat wage packet in hers

I agree with Moomin Dave:

Come on DT, please lose her from the writing staff! Her writing is regularly an embarrassment, characterised by such loose thinking that it would attract a reprimand from a teacher marking primary school work. How dare she lazily vilify a whole group of workers in another profession for lacking quality whilst accepting payment (at a much higher rate than they, I might add) for this standard of work... The hubris of it is simply unbelievable.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I like this reply from SeeBee "The London Marathon is coming up. So Christine, here's the plan (It's too late to register, so it has got to be unofficial). Go to the start carrying a bag weighing around 15kg and wearing a sign with your name on it so that everyone knows who you are. Start walking, after twenty seconds or so stop, bend double, straighten up and continue. After twenty seconds repeat the exercise. After another twenty seconds crouch down to the ground, then stand up and continue. Keep repeating these three elements for three and a half hours. I will then measure how far you have travelled. According to you, it should be a piece of piss to have walked fourteen miles. I know that it will be substantially less than fourteen miles so now you can abandon the bag and walk to make up the difference. I doubt that you will home in time for supper. Oh and no I'm not a postman."
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?

I think this reply sums it up:

Even if you took this article seriously and as a yardstick with which to measure public feeling, VIZ as a headline is a strange one to use. Right at the end she blows any further credibility out of the water by quoting TNT. They are delivered by Royal Mail, the very organisation that she is attacking...of course proletariat haters on here fan the flames by quoting their episodic one off bad service days. The job is hard work (I did before graduating) and the management are bullies. There is no quantitive evidence in this article to back up any claims or attacks about posties. Just another right wing attempt to justify privatisation; the railways are a prime example of how rubbish service is after privatisation. However if we have to use VIZ as an erudite publication on wish to base this dangerous bile, how about Fat Slag??? I will let you work out the implication....
