Hulme postal worker sells off his Manchester City 6-1 number
Hulme postal worker sells off his Manchester City 6-1 number plate http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... mber-plate" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A postal worker is offering a first class souvenir of City’s historic victory over United – despite not even liking football.
Muhammad Amer Lateef paid £500 for the car registration MC61 WON after the Blues trounced the Reds in last month’s Old Trafford derby.
Despite having no interest in football and not supporting City, Muhammad was left celebrating the Blues victory and hopes to cash in by selling the registration on eBay for £2,500.
Muhammad, whose 10-year-old son Taimar is a United fan, had the idea after reading in the M.E.N. about Bilal Chawala, who bought the registration M19 WON when United won their 19th league title.
The Blues’ 6-1 win was their best result at Old Trafford since 1955. They beat the Reds with the same score in 1926.
Muhammad, 42, from Hulme, said: "The numberplate will bring a smile to half of Manchester. It will get a lot of beeping horns but it is not intended to rub the win in people’s faces."
The registration plate is currently on eBay for £2,500 but Muhammad has not yet received any serious offers.
He said: "I have had people say they will give me £50 for it but I paid a lot more than that for it. I don’t really follow football at all but my son is a die-hard United fan.
"He couldn’t believe what I’d done. He kept asking why I was celebrating."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Wonder how long before the car that plate is on gets trashed.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Seeing as MC is Man City and 61 WON is they won 6-1 and most personalised reg plates require some imagination, it's not that bad as it goes.bringon4dayweeks wrote:man u 1 - 6 man city number plate is wrong way round
I still wouldn't fork out £2500 for it though, even as a City fan.
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?
