Volumes going up? Phone bills anyway.
BT stops paperless billing discount
http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2011/no ... sfeed=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Customers opting to view their bills online instead of receiving them by post have benefited from a saving of £1.25 a month – a discount the telecoms provider says "has not proved viable in the long term.".....
"Making BT send bills again is a petty response to the removal of the paperfree discount but I smiled to myself as I hung up the phone." Another said: "[This] does seem an odd decision by BT as it will probably cost more than my discount to print and post a paper bill to me."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

To be honest this was always going to happen.
The discount was to lure people away from the paper bill but it was expensive,despite what the punters think it doesn't cost anywhere near £3.75(3 months) to print and send a bill.
BT will now hope that most of them stick with the paperless system even without the discount and then eventually they will withdraw the paper bill altogether.
What we need is a facebook campaign.

Re: Volumes going up? Phone bills anyway.
I had a letter off BT the other day to say everything was going up and no discount for a paperless bill. So I'll be adding to the volume as I'll be going back to a paper bill..........f**k em

Sounds good unless they go the way of Virgin Media and charge for a paper bill instead of discounting paperless billing .

I contacted that Martin Lewis dude about this,if the banks can get their arse kicked for the charges fiddle then these scrotes who charge what is an extortionate amount for a paper bill should be looked at.
Guess he's busy tho.

Also, if you stick with paper bills, it's more work for us. The more work available, the safer our jobs are.DGP1 wrote:Never went to paperless billingGood bit of paper is always the best for when you need additional ID
