A postwoman from South Staffordshire who was suspended after she tried to stop a man from stealing her work van has lost an appeal against a decision to move her to a sorting office role, it emerged today.
Julie Roberts clung to the bonnet of her work van for nearly a mile as it was driven off by an would-be thief in Trysull, South Staffordshire.
She stopped the man, but she was then suspended for leaving her keys in the ignition.
Royal Mail decided to keep 51-year-old Miss Roberts on but relocated her to a sorting office in Wolverhampton instead of reinstating her to her regular round.
She appealed against that decision, but it today emerged bosses had rejected her bid.
