A CHURCH minister wants answers after mail was either delivered late or not at all.
Last Wednesday Norman Dix, of Plantation Drive, Orpington, didn't receive any post until 7.40pm.
And on some days, he says he doesn't get any mail, which is unusual as his job means he usually receives plenty of letters.
When it is delivered, it is normally any time from late morning until 5pm.
Mr Dix, minister at The Oak Community Church in St Paul's Cray, raised the issue with Royal Mail, who replied admitting they couldn't deliver every day.
The letter said: "Since the implementation of the modernisation review we have not always been able to meet the standards of delivery which we strive for and to complete a delivery on a daily basis."
Mr Dix, 65, said: "It's extraordinary. I am disturbed by what's going on and amazed no-one's picked up on this.
"Considering how much stamps cost and went up last time. I just wonder exactly what's going on.
"It's very rare I don't get any mail because of my job.
"Sometimes I suddenly get a great load of mail through in one day, which has got to be more than one day's worth."
Royal Mail spokesperson Sally Hopkins said: "We apologise to Mr Dix for the disruption he has experienced recently to his mail services.
"This has been caused by the changes we have made to our delivery practices in Orpington in recent weeks, which have taken a while to bed in, coupled with higher than usual levels of sick absence in the office.
"We wish to reassure our customers in Orpington that we are working hard to resolve these issues. Mail for delivery is going out for delivery every day and we are making every effort to ensure all deliveries are completed that same day."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
