The Labour Party annual conference kicked off in Liverpool on Sunday and CWU is fully represented with a delegation led by the general secretary, Billy Hayes. The conference is being held at the ACC arena, near the city's famous and historic Albert Dock and runs until Thursday.

Sunday's business consisted of a welcome from the leader of Liverpool Council, addresses from the chair and outgoing general secretary before a welcome and comments from the newly elected Labour Party general secretary Ian McNicol, formerly of the GMB union.

The afternoon's debates and discussions were centred around London 2012 and a review of internal policy.

In addition to Billy Hayes, the delegation consists of deputy general secretaries, Andy Kerr and Dave Ward, postal assistant secretary Terry Pullinger, NEC members Peter Donaghy, Brendan O'Brien and Karen Rose, regional secretaries Lee Barron and John Brown, Simon Edwards, Brian Kenny, Vera Kelsey, Gerry Ryan and John Woodhouse.

Monday's debates are focused on Business with Ed Balls as the key speaker.

Wonder where Eddy is?? Because Ed and Edd don't seem to have a clue........................maybe I watch too much Cartoon Network :nervous .

All I've seen is Ed wanting to carry on Tory light policies instead of actually trying to create a fair society where everyone can work without the fear of some Tory boy taking their job away to give them a bonus. :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad
