Removing bulk products from the universal service and clarifying the status of other universal service products – a decision document
This document sets out our decisions on changes to the composition of the universal service prior to transfer of regulatory responsibility to Ofcom. Having
carefully considered the responses to our consultation, we have decided to confirm our proposals to:
Remove bulk products from the universal service
Include Recorded Signed For (as an add-on to universal services only),
Redirections, Keepsafe, Poste Restante, and Certificate of Posting (as an
add-on to universal services only) in the universal service.

PostCon:Remove bulk services from the USO.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Too much to actually read through but what actually remains in the USO?

Re: PostCon:Remove bulk services from the USO.
So does this mean that RM now CAN stream the mail
FFS I have had enough arguments with my DOM over this and it's now going to get worse
I can see it now, bulk delivery products twice a week and the rest daily.

QofS is different to USO.
Everything that enters a D.O. is due for delivery that day.
Anything that doesn't should be reported as a quality failure...not a failure of the USO.

Re: PostCon:Remove bulk services from the USO.
The USO is doomed.
A privatised, profit-driven, cost-conscious, postal BUSINESS, is not going to fanny about with something that will ensure losses, such as the USO.
That is why we had a state-owned monopoly, better known as the postal SERVICE this last 360 years.
We can either have a postal business, or several postal businesses, or a postal service, but we cannot have both.

Thats exactly what RM will do, this way it cuts out hours from delivery and jobs will go as a result! RM don't give a f**k about QOS.DGP1 wrote:I can see it now, bulk delivery products twice a week and the rest daily.

Re: PostCon:Remove bulk services from the USO.
In a fair world, this could actually work to everyones favour. Rather than be inundated from Wednesday onwards, with unachievable workloads, this is a good opportunity to spread the workload, especially on Mondays and Tuesdays. Of course, this is common sense, and beyond the reach of RM manangers, who will use this as an excuse for more B&H !!

So where does leech mail fit in ? If we still have to deliver this each day then to be honest it won't make a jot of difference
