Get real, this is now a competetive market . You simply can not ask Royal Mail to provide you with a service free of charge. You may get various bits shot or blown off but at the end of the day the serious consideration is the bottom line.You are not our customers so sorry but go beg to dhl, fellow losers.

Perhaps the overpaid politicians and businessmen who have these young people sent off to fight these wars could put their hands in their pockets and pay something towards the cost.

Derek Twigg, the Armed Forces Minister has invited 150 disabled ex-servicemen to be awarded with a badge (not a medal) at a function on HMS Belfast. No doubt this is in response to the criticism of the way the Government treats ex-servicemen. (The Ghurkas being one example). The 150 disabled ex-servicemen have to pay for their own travel to London and accommodation. There have been complaints from some of the ex-servicemen that this will be just a photo opportunity to make Twigg and the Government look as though they care.

We sent letters and packages free of charge during the Falklands War(1982 I think).........But it was a service then,now its a bussiness,the gaffers today are a different breed i'm afraid.

Stop press; now we can breach our license and send them free of charge. Depending on the demand for this service, RM is considering extending the innitiative to all DSA products. A Royal Mail spokesperson said" RM is a public servi..no competetive busine....servi...busi, a...a..a shameless propoganda machine willing to extract positive pr from any situation"

surely this cant be a situation POLITICAL considerations have affected our truly independant regulator.

Prompted by RM's actions major arms manufacturers are rumoured to be considering supplying free cluster and fuel air bombs to all active theatres of conflict.

Why not get all the parcels sent through TNT DHL etc,then they can downstream it through RM and we'll deliver it for fuc- all like everything else we deliver for them

Probably because the fantastic competition can't manage anything which isn't of a standard dimension. A bit like Leighton's head.

If I was an ex-serviceman, disabled, and that shower of shite in Westminster wanted me to pay my own travel exspenses, accomodation, etc, just
so I'd get a badge, and they, a good photo opportunity, I'd tell them to go and have a good long wank for themselves , and I'd stop at home.
