CHEEKY postman and a fitness fanatic from the Newmarket area have been persuaded out of their clothes and on to a billboard to get women to sign up for a charity walk.
The St Nicholas Hospice Care Girls Night Out is now in its third year, and the event last year alone raised £90,000 for the charity.
The hospice team is hoping to entice as many as 1,000 women on the 11.2-mile or six-mile walks this year, raising their fundraising target to £100,000 – and have enlisted four hunks to help.
Steve Nicholson, 33, a Newmarket postman, and Ben Oakley, 22, stripped off and posed for a picture which will be pasted on to billboards and other promotional material for the walk.
Ben said: “I’d seen a previous photo of naked women promoting the Girls Night Out, so when I was asked to take part I was happy to get involved.”
Steve said: “The photo-shoot sounded like it would be good fun – on a dry day. In the end it was pouring with rain, but it was all for a good cause.”
The lads were joined for the snap by Felipe Empleo, 32, a care assistant from Bury St Edmunds, and Liam Britton, 24, a personal fitness trainer from Sudbury.
The women-only event in Bury St Edmunds on September 17 will kick off with a Zumba warm-up.
Men will be handing out water en-route, and live music and entertainment will be provided along the way.
Jenny Baskett, hospice events and challenges fundraiser, said: “The women taking part in the Girls Night Out inevitably get thirsty, so we hope having men at the water stations will give them a little extra incentive to get round and quench their thirst. And we hope our cheeky water boys will give women an incentive to register for the walk.
“The event is great fun with a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish, so I urge any women still thinking of signing up to do so now.”
